Who has done well on social media since the danish election?
We looked at how Danish MPs and parties have performed on Facebook and Instagram since the election (24 March to 31 August 2026). The clear winner is the Danish People's Party (DF).
DF's MPs generated almost 3.8 million interactions in total, compared with 1.3 million for Liberal Alliance. That is roughly one in four of all MP interactions, from a party with less than 9% of the seats. DF's own party page is in a league of its own: 2.8 million interactions, more than half of all party-page interactions and almost seven times the next party.
The picture is more mixed when we look at interactions per post. Among the 174 MPs who posted, no DF member makes the top five. But DF holds sixth, seventh, ninth and fourteenth place, which is a lot. Mette Frederiksen ranks first, with an average of 9,736 interactions across 158 posts. Mattias Tesfaye, Søren Gade and Rosa Lund also rank high, but on very few posts (5, 4 and 18). Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Pia Olsen Dyhr have dropped out of the top 15.
The trend is the same as in previous years: blue bloc politicians dominate the top 15. If social media keeps growing in importance, as we believe it will, the red bloc needs an answer.
